Why make a scrapbook?

Gone are the days of boxes of pictures that you may stumble upon and enjoy an hour or so reminiscing as you sift through them.  How often do you accidentally open the pictures directory of your computer and spend time clicking through them?  Not often.  I think to myself, ‘I’ll come back to it later’, but later never comes.  However, as I’m dusting my shelves (on occasion), I find the scrapbooks I’ve done.  I tear myself away from the dusting, sit down and flip through them.

In some cases, people have a library of pictures but no outlet to view or display them, other than sitting down at the computer and opening the picture directory, which may be fine if you are alone.  But if you are trying to present them to a person or a group of people it is difficult.

You may be a person with the know-how to quickly slap together a slideshow or have the pictures displayed on your television from an SD card.  And although these are great solutions, they still lack the immediate gratification and ease of just picking it up and handing it to someone.  Another great benefit is that the scrapbook will tell the story for you…if you do your journaling (everyone’s favorite part of scrapbooking!).  It will remember funny moments and stories for you and for your loved ones even if you are not there to tell it yourself.

Common scrapbook ideas are:

·         A school memories or growing up memories book for the graduate and his parents.

·         A vacation book to remember everything about that once in a lifetime vacation.
  • A memory book for grandparents anniversary commemorating their years together.

  • A family heritage book gathering all the photos and memories from family members and then presenting them with the finished product as a gift for the holidays.

·         Year in review, remembering everything about the past year.

If these ideas sound great to you but are more than you want to take on, contact a scrap-4-hire company.  Research them, take a look at some of their work and choose the one that fits best with what you want your scrapbook to look like.  And don’t forget to compare prices. There is a wide range out there!  But please let us help.  We want to help you enjoy your pictures and your memories.
